February 21, 2020 (Itasca, Ill.) – PREMIER Design + Build Group (“PREMIER”) has completed work on a new 33,815-square-foot shared office and coworking facility in suburban Milwaukee for developer HSA Commercial, Inc. (“HSA”). Serendipity Labs is the latest addition to The Mayfair Collection, a mixed-use retail, commercial and residential development in Wauwatosa, WI. PREMIER and HSA have been working together since 2013 on this 69-acre site. HSA originally tapped PREMIER for this large-scale adaptive reuse project, which involved converting an old produce warehouse into a local destination. The Mayfair Collection complex is now anchored by Whole Foods and Nordstrom Rack and offers shopping, dining, living and flexible offices and meetings capabilities. The new Serendipity Labs coworking facility includes 95 shared offices, team rooms, collaborative workspaces, conference rooms, event space, wellness rooms, a Lab café and work lounge areas. A feature staircase is the focal point at Serendipity Labs, which offers resident members 24-hour access to their offices. The shared office space is located on West Burleigh Street, just off U.S. 41 and 45. Serendipity Labs is a national company with more than 40 upscale flexible workplaces designed for the professional market across the U.S. PREMIER’s project team joined HSA and Serendipity Labs on Wednesday for a grand opening to celebrate its completion. The event drew a cross-section of attendees representing not just the project partners, but representatives from many of the local restaurants and businesses within The Mayfair Collection. "We’re honored to have played a role in transforming this site into a vibrant destination for businesses in the greater Milwaukee area,” said PREMIER’s executive vice president, Alec Zocher. “Today’s event was a great indicator that The Mayfair Collection is growing as a strong, cohesive community,” said Zocher. PREMIER’s Phil Van Duyne served as project manager, working with Rick Schwenn as project superintendent and senior vice president/Midwest market leader Michael Long. "With the opening of Serendipity Labs and the Dematic regional headquarters planned next door, we are thrilled to begin adding a daytime office population at The Mayfair Collection that we believe will advance the vision we share with the City of Wauwatosa for a vibrant, 24/7 mixed-use community," said Tim Blum, managing director of the retail development group at HSA.
