September 15, 2021 (Piscataway, NJ) – PREMIER Design + Build Group held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening on Friday to celebrate the completion of an industrial warehouse for client MX Logistics. The 50,273-square-foot facility in Piscataway, NJ will serve as the new headquarters for the transportation and logistics service provider, which had outgrown its previous home. Work to create the firm’s new facility, which included both ground-up construction and fit out, began in October 2020. The building features steel frame, load-bearing precast concrete panels, an aluminum storefront, and glass and glazing. It has a 32’ clear height, 15 dock positions, one drive-in door, and a truckers’ lounge. Interior spaces include 10 offices, open workspace for up to 40 employees, huddle rooms, and conference space. PREMIER’s team also created exterior parking for 58 trailers, 34 tractors, and 86 cars. The MX Logistics warehouse is located at 20 Constitution Avenue in Piscataway, a township in New Jersey’s Middlesex County. The site is located 35 miles southwest of New York City and offers easy access to I-287, I-78, the New Jersey Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, and several other major highways. PREMIER served as general contractor on the new build and worked closely with the project team on value engineering. PREMIER’s Alexander Frenz served as project manager, working with project superintendent Erik Hoermann and David Gasson, vice president, Northeast operations. According to Alexis Graziosetta-Tobias, director of project development for PREMIER, “The Pereira family’s success in growing MX Logistics meant they needed a new home. The PREMIER team collaborated closely with the Pereiras to identify the right solution and deliver a facility that ensures they are fully prepared for the future.” “We chose PREMIER as our partner because we had confidence that they understood our vision and would create exactly what our family-owned business needed to support our continued growth,” said Luis Pereira, vice president of MX Logistics. PREMIER worked with Ware Malcomb for architectural design services and Hammer Land Engineering for civil engineering services. Flavio Tamburri of Automation Concepts served as consultant and owner’s representative. MX Logistics worked with Cushman & Wakefield’s Daniel Badenhausen, senior director of brokerage services, and William Ruckert, senior vice president at The Provident Bank, on the project.
