Starting My Career in the Field

My journey with PREMIER began as a Field Intern, where I had the chance to be on-site and see the day-to-day operations up close. That hands-on experience was invaluable. It gave me a strong foundation in how construction projects actually come together in real time.

Later that year, during winter break, I came back as an Office Intern, which gave me a totally different perspective. I learned more about the behind-the-scenes planning and coordination that keep our projects running smoothly. Experiencing both the field and office really helped me understand the bigger picture of what it takes to deliver a successful build.

In July 2024, I officially joined PREMIER as a Project Engineer, and I couldn’t be more grateful. That transition from intern to full-time employee felt natural because of how invested the team was in my development from day one.

Surrounded by Support

To me, PREMIER is all about opportunity, personally and professionally. It’s a place where learning is constant, growth is encouraged, and relationships matter. Every day, I’m surrounded by people who are driven, collaborative, and genuinely want to see each other succeed. That kind of environment makes a huge difference, it’s what makes PREMIER such a great place to work. 

Finding Clarity in my Career

The opportunities I’ve been given here have had a major impact on my career and personal development. Getting a full-time offer right out of college gave me a strong start, but more importantly, PREMIER has helped me gain clarity about the path I want to take in this industry. Along the way, I’ve built real relationships with people who continue to mentor and inspire me.

My Advice to Internship Seekers

If you’re searching for a summer internship, my biggest piece of advice is to stay open-minded. You might end up enjoying a role or even an industry that you never initially considered. Some of the best opportunities come from the most unexpected places, and they can lead to meaningful experiences and long-term growth.

Looking Ahead to Leading My Own Project

One of my biggest goals is to eventually manage my own project from start to finish. PREMIER is helping me get there by giving me the chance to take on more responsibility, learn from seasoned professionals, and continue growing every step of the way. I feel confident knowing I’m in the right place to reach that goal.

Looking back, it’s amazing to see how far I’ve come since that first internship. And looking forward, I’m excited about where this journey at PREMIER will take me next.
