October 20, 2020 (Piscataway, NJ) – PREMIER Design + Build Group broke ground this month on an industrial warehouse and fit-out for MX Logistics. PREMIER will construct a new 50,273-square-foot facility for MX Logistics, a transportation and logistics service provider. The project is located at 20 Constitution Avenue in Piscataway, a township in New Jersey’s Middlesex County. The Piscataway site is located 35 miles southwest of New York City and offers easy access to I-287, I-78, the New Jersey Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, and several other major highways.
The new MX Logistics building will be constructed using steel frame, load-bearing precast concrete panels, aluminum storefront, and glass and glazing. It will include 10 offices, six restrooms, two huddle rooms, conference space, and open workspace for up to 40 employees. The facility will have a 32’ clear height, along with 18 dock positions, two drive-in doors, and a truckers’ lounge. Exterior parking will also be created, adding a total of 58 trailer stalls, 34 tractor stalls, and 86 car stalls.
PREMIER is providing design + build services on the project. Alexander Frenz is serving as project manager for PREMIER, working with project superintendent Erik Hoermann and David Gasson, vice president, Northeast operations. According to Alexis Graziosetta-Tobias, director of project development for PREMIER, “We’ve been collaborating with the Pereira family since 2018 to help them develop concepts for their future. MX Logistics had outgrown their existing headquarters. We’ve been exploring these concepts and developing budgets and scenarios to deliver the right solution.”
Luis Pereira, vice president of MX Logistics, spoke at the groundbreaking ceremony in Piscataway.
“This project is a major step forward for MX Logistics, our family-owned company whose mission is to offer dependable logistics services to all our customers,” said Pereira. “We are excited to have chosen PREMIER as our partner for this new facility.”
PREMIER is teaming with Ware Malcomb for architectural design services and Hammer Land Engineering for civil engineering services. Flavio Tamburri of Automation Concepts is serving as consultant and owner’s representative for MX Logistics on the project.
MX Logistics is working with Cushman & Wakefield’s Daniel Badenhausen, senior director of brokerage services. Funding for the new building is being provided by The Provident Bank.
William Ruckert, senior vice president, is the bank’s representative. The project team has established an aggressive project schedule and expects to complete the new facility by July 2021.
